What's On

Hudson Taylor

What does faith look like in the face of sorrow, opposition, riots, bereavement, and seemingly insurmountable odds? Where is God when trials come?

Willing to give up everything, his friends, family, his culture and even his life to meet the needs of the Chinese people, Hudson Taylor was a man of vision and of faith. Forced by circumstances to grapple with the big issues of life, his was a life lived on his knees in prayer to the God he loved to serve, of self-sacrifice for the needs of others and of great joy even in the face of suffering.

EverAfter's brand new one man show is a dramatic retelling of the extraordinary life of James Hudson Taylor whose call to China in 1853 was to not only change his life forever but also the lives of tens of thousands of Chinese people. Performed in EverAfter's trademark storytelling style, 'Hudson Taylor' is in turns comic and tragic, searching and uplifting; it is a remarkable picture of faith in God which is searingly relevant in our cynical culture.

'Hudson Taylor' is presented by EverAfter Theatre Company in association with OMF International (UK). OMF was founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865 as the China Inland Mission, and exists to glorify God through the urgent evangelisation of East Asia's billions.
